This subsection of my portfolio showcases two smaller projects which helped me learn new digital and quantitative skills. They are more reflective in nature, and mainly served to aid my own learning and the learning of my peers within the Digital Arts and Humanities minor at Carleton. These projects are not designed with a public audience in mind, and not readily accessible on the internet.

How to Make Emotionally Compelling Data Visualizations with Hand-drawing
Tutorial
I created this tutorial for my classmates in DGAH 110 at Carleton College in order to help people approach the process of making interesting data visualizations (graphs, charts, patterns, etc.) by hand. As a visual artist and avid doodler, hand-drawing comes easily to me, but I wanted to explore how to combine this skill with quantitative information.
Mapping the Charles W. Cushman Photograph Collection: Film Rolls 1-5
mini mapping exploration
This project documents my process using ArcGIS to map metadata from the Charles W. Cushman Photograph Collection. I practiced importing csv files of metadata into ArcGIS layers, and also filtering the data to decide what was most relevant for viewers.
